The UP Board Class 12 English paper leaked from Ballia before the 30 March 2022 exam, which was cancelled in 24 districts of eastern UP and went ahead in the remaining 51. The Ballia district inspector of schools and 16 others were arrested under FIRs; the DIOS was suspended, the STF took over, and the Chief Minister directed invocation of the NSA against those involved. The cancelled paper was re-held on 13 April 2022.
