Re-opened during the 2022 UKSSSC leak probes, the VPDO 2016 case produced the most senior arrests in Uttarakhand's exam scandals: the STF arrested the commission's former chairman — a retired Indian Forest Service officer — its ex-secretary and its former exam controller, for allegedly facilitating selection by tampering with OMR answer sheets of paying candidates. The 2016 result had already been cancelled after earlier probes.
