On 30 September 2025, days before the sub-inspector exam, Odisha police stopped three buses near the Andhra border carrying 117 people headed to Hyderabad for access to leaked papers, at a reported price of Rs 20–25 lakh each. The exam was postponed by the recruitment board the same day. The CID took over; 123 people including 114 candidates were arrested, while the alleged organiser remained absconding.
