Handwritten copies of the CBSE Class 12 Economics and Class 10 Mathematics papers circulated on WhatsApp before the exams; the board itself received a copy of the maths paper by email nine hours before the test. Delhi Police's crime branch registered cases and questioned dozens; teachers at a private school and a tutor were arrested for the Economics leak. The Economics paper was re-held nationwide on 25 April 2018; the Class 10 maths re-exam was ultimately dropped as the leak was found confined to Delhi and Haryana.
