BSSC inter-level leak: commission chairman, an IAS officer, arrested
Confidence C — based on the press record (archived below). No primary documents on file yet; treat names of agencies, dates and figures as reported, not established.
Question papers of BSSC's inter-level exam (held 29 January and 5 February 2017) circulated on WhatsApp before the tests. An SIT arrested the commission's secretary, and on 24 February 2017 arrested its chairman — a senior IAS officer — from Hazaribagh, along with family members; he was suspended and the exam cancelled. The Supreme Court granted him bail in October 2020 after nearly 3 years and 7 months in custody, noting the charge sheet had been filed and trial would take long.
