Bihar's Economic Offences Unit, acting on 13 March 2024 intelligence about a syndicate spanning Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha, raided Hotel Kohinoor in Hazaribagh and found candidates being made to memorise answer keys before the 15 March TRE-3.0 exam, at a reported Rs 10 lakh per candidate. BPSC cancelled both shifts on 20 March on the SIT's preliminary findings. 266 people including 88 women had been arrested by then. The exam was re-conducted in July 2024.
